SCA’s uppermost priority is the health and well-being of our staff and members. We are continuing to monitor and respond to the ongoing Covid-19 situation by reviewing CDC and WHO guidelines daily, as well as public health recommendations at relevant local levels.

As circumstances evolve, so too will SCA policies to help ensure overall safety and assist in making informed decisions based on facts.

SCA has developed a comprehensive response plan with guidance on how to best navigate present conditions. Among our actions:

  • We are requiring any staff that have had recent travel (<14 days) to a restricted area or has a fever/respiratory illness to not travel or participate in any SCA program. If staff become symptomatic during a program, they are instructed to remove themselves from the program and contact their SCA supervisor.
  • Those showing Covid-19 or flu-like symptoms (i.e. fever, coughing, or shortness of breath) should stay home and do not report for work, or may be sent home if symptoms surface at work.
  • Under such circumstances, individuals should not return to work until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours, without the aid of any medicines.
  • We are encouraging telecommuting options where available.
  • As SCA regularly holds service projects and other local events designed to engage members of the public, we will regularly assess event schedules and local conditions, and may postpone or cancel such events as warranted.
  • There are no travel restrictions issued for any location SCA provides programs at this time. Those who are uncomfortable with traveling during this period of high-alert should contact their supervisor to explore alternate arrangements. Travelers should be prepared for additional restrictions to be put into effect with little or no advance notice and plan accordingly.

If a program or event is to be cancelled we will follow federal and local instructions, as we have done with past federal closures or severe weather events.
