What We Offer:
The Student Conservation Association launched its first Atlanta community conservation program in 2021. With seed funding from the UPS Foundation, ten high school students came together to design, construct, maintain, and advocate for increased green spaces. Since then, more than 50 youth in the Atlanta metro area have participated in SCA programs.
We offer both school year and summer programs for teens and young adults.
Our school year program takes place on weekdays and weekends.

Join The Crew!
The SCA is seeking Field Leaders (age 21+) to supervise and train our Black Women’s Conservation Crew in Atlanta. The team consists of Black crew members (age 18+) who self-identify as women. Cis and trans women, as well as non-binary and gender non-conforming people, are welcome. This crew is a safe space for women of color to learn, grow and gain new technical skills. Crew members will work on service projects, including invasive species removal, habitat restoration, litter abatement and trail work at various locations throughout local National Park Service sites in the Atlanta area. Field Leaders will guide and help train crew members on how to use hand and power tools, maintain equipment and trails, identify plants and trees, urban forestry basics and more. Field Leaders are responsible for incorporating environmental education and emotional first aid.
Expected Dates: May 19 – Aug. 1 Pay: $775/wk.

Apply NowThe SCA is seeking a Field Leader (age 21+) to supervise and train the Atlanta All African American Crew in Atlanta, Georgia. The field leader will co-lead a team of ten high-school-aged youth (age 14-19). The crew will work on projects including invasive species removal, habitat restoration, litter abatement and trail work at National Park Service sites in the metro Atlanta region. The Field Leader will facilitate teamwork, train members in technical conservation work skills, communicate with agency partners and manage the timely completion of work projects. Leaders will also be responsible for planning and incorporating environmental education and curriculum.
Expected Dates: May 19 – July 25 Pay: $750/wk.
Apply NowThe SCA is seeking high school-aged crew members (ages 14-18) for its All African American Crew. The crew will work on projects including invasive species removal, habitat restoration, litter abatement and trail work in support of Arabia Mountain and the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance. Crew members will help plan and participate in community engagement initiatives, including environmental awareness events, volunteer days and educational outreach programs.
Expected Dates: June 2 – July 25 Pay: $12.50/hr.
