Ready to make a real impact on the world around you for generations to come? Our paid environmental protection and restoration programs give you hands-on experience constructing and clearing trails, building bridges and managing invasive species throughout the Adirondack region.

Since 1998, the SCA Adirondack AmeriCorps Program has provided nearly 400,000 hours of service to the lands and people of New York. Each year, 22 volunteers contribute more than 20,000 service hours, completing conservation service projects that improve and protect the state’s cultural, recreational and natural resources.

The SCA Adirondack AmeriCorps Program is a partnership between the Student Conservation Association, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Corporation for National and Community Service.

Join The Crew!

Adirondack Corps- Crew Member

The SCA is seeking crew members (age 18+) to join its Adirondack Corps based in upstate New York.

This is an AmeriCorps program focused on completing critical conservation service projects. Crew members work on an array of service projects, including new trail construction, bridge building, invasive species management, infrastructure maintenance and historic preservation. Room and board are provided. Members will live in community and camp 5-10 days at a time throughout the season.

Program Dates: May 12 – Oct. 17, 2025. Pay: $500/wk., $3,697.50 AmeriCorps Education Award

Our program participants learn how to work with a diverse team of peers; gain career readiness skills; increase their understanding of environmental and trail restoration techniques; acquire experience in backcountry living; and develop valuable professional skills through team building and leadership activities.
