The RK Mellon Foundation has been a generous supporter of several SCA programs in Pittsburgh and the Three Rivers region since 1992.
In 2013 a grant from the Foundation is supporting SCA’s Green Cities Corps (in its work to help implement Pittsburgh’s Climate Action Plan) and SCA’s Community Conservation Crews (which provide work experience and job readiness skills to low-income Pittsburgh high school students).
The Foundation’s current primary interests are conservation and regional economic growth. It has played a major role in the revival of Pittsburgh.
