(ARLINGTON, VA) January 11, 2022 — The Student Conservation Association (SCA), a national leader in youth service and stewardship, has appointed Toby Bokum-Fauth as vice president of Partnership.

Bokum-Fauth (BOH-kum FAWTH) is responsible for developing and directing SCA strategies to provide youth-led conservation solutions for resource managers at the federal, state, and municipal levels. SCA participants, primarily 15 to 25-year-olds, serve in individual internships or in teams, and complete partners’ priority projects including climate resilience measures, wildfire mitigation, trail construction, invasive species removal, visitor services, and more. SCA serves over 500 national parks, state forests, and city parks and rec departments across the U.S.

Over the past 10 years, Bokum-Fauth has advanced through a variety of influential roles with SCA in Recruiting, Program, and most recently as partnership officer for SCA’s Eastern Region. In this latter capacity, he earned a National Park Service Superintendent’s Outstanding Service Award and recognition from the U.S. Forest Service for Collaborative Partnerships and Engagement.

“Toby brings a strong understanding of our partners’ challenges and needs, as well as a remarkable ability to forge collaborative relationships that benefit our partners and the natural and cultural sites under their direction,” states SCA CEO and President Stephanie Meeks. “His sharp strategic focus, familiarity with all facets of our organization, and demonstrated commitment to the values of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion make Toby the right choice for Partnership at the right time for SCA.”

Prior to SCA, Bokum-Fauth launched a web-based tool that helped users fill or find conservation corps jobs, and also founded a Washington, DC-based apparel company that showcased local parks and neighborhoods. He resides in Richmond, VA.
