The person who inspires me most is… My friends and family.
If I could pass a law… Congress would have to cut their pay until the budget is balanced.
If I were a shape shifter I’d turn into… a rock.
My motto: Live life to the fullest!
My most memorable outdoor moment: In January of this year I traveled to Ecuador for a two-week study abroad course. Part of the trip was three-day trip to the Ecuadorian Rainforest, where we stayed in a Kichwa community. The last night of our stay a few of us went on a night hike with our guide, Mauricio. The rainforest was more alive then I had ever seen it. Tarantulas could be seen almost anywhere I looked, bullet ants covered a tree, I held a sleeping Amazonian Green Tree Frog, and had the opportunity to hold an Amazonian Vine Snake. It was by far one of the best hikes I have ever taken, as it demonstrated how an environment may appear devoid of life during the day but be absolutely vibrant with life at night.
What forces, events, or influences in your life inspired you to become a conservationist? Spending most of my weekends in high school camping and going on High Adventure trips in New Mexico, the Florida Keys, and Northern Minnesota all inspired me to protect the natural world.
