The intern will assist the district in continuing and possibly expanding its fledgling partnership with the Delta Workforce Investment Area, a local workforce investment board.  Through this partnership underserved youth are employed on the district to perform high priority conservation work.  Housing for the internship will be provided by the Yazoo National Wildlife Refuge through and interagency partnership between the Forest Service and US Fish and Wildlife Service.  As such, the intern will serve to expand public engagement opportunities and accomplish conservation work that benefits both agencies and enhances cross jurisdictional cooperation.
