Join a team of dedicated rangers working to help visitors appreciate, understand, and appropriately enjoy this stunning red rock desert. Staff the visitor center desk, provide orientation, answer questions, help visitors plan backcountry trips and assist in the sale of bookstore merchandise, 35%; collect fees at an entrance station and for backcountry permits in the Visitor Center, 30%; present interpretive programs which may include geology talks, patio talks and guided walks, 10%; research and prepare programs and/or rove scenic overlooks and park trails, 10%; assist park staff with various projects, 5%; training, 10%.

The Island in the Sky district sits on a high mesa surrounded by the deep red rock canyons of the Green and Colorado Rivers and offers spectacular views one hundred miles wide. Much of the park is wilderness providing unique possibilities to explore this untouched landscape. Thirty-five miles away is the town of Moab with shops, restaurants and a wide variety of recreation opportunities. The nearby La Sal Mountains are a cool forest retreat and fifteen other National Park sites within a day’s drive make for amazing weekend getaways.
