Perform both natural and cultural interpretation including traditional historical interpretation at the Memorial Visitor Center and surrounding formal grounds; provide interpretive and visitor services including roving contacts with visitors, conducting tours, orientation talks, film showings and information desk services; present on-site programs to visitors at the Memorial Visitor Center Memorial grounds and at park locations as assigned; collect entrance fees and conduct Eastern National sales (50% of internship). The other major component of this internship will be the development and management of 3-5 Junior Ranger Day programs that will include hands-on activities for children ages 6-12 (50% of internship).

Please note that this position is not eligible for SCA AmeriCorps and applicants will not be eligible to receive an AmeriCorps Education Award.

  • Lincoln Boyhood is located in southern Indiana at Lincoln City. It is 42 miles east of Evansville, Indiana. The Memorial is a 200 acre wooded historical park adjacent to the 1,747-acre Lincoln State Park. The Memorial is in a rural area, but shopping facilities, churches, doctors, hospitals, universities, and vocational colleges are in the immediate vicinity. Temperatures range from winter lows in the teens to 20’s to summer highs in the 90s.
