Diversity Recruiting

The Student Conservation Association recruits at 165+ colleges and universities to build a qualified, diverse, and inclusive pool of candidates for our vast array of service opportunities. Diverse students are recruited for all of our internship programs and not just specifically for diversity programs. Recruiters meet with professors, individual students and classes. They also connect with multicultural offices and student groups that are made up of diverse students or serve diverse populations on campuses. In addition, SCA recruiters visit numerous Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Tribal Schools each year. The SCA maintains a referral network of staff and faculty at HBCUs enabling us to contact via email over 1200 individuals soliciting their recommendations for strong candidates.
