Death Valley National Park

B McCarthy (CA 2003)
My Living History internship at Scotty's Castle in Death Valley National Park was an amazing three month experience, opening my eyes to conservation, NPS, the beauty of the west, and of course, SCA. I researched, wrote and presented living history tours of the historic home of a Depression-era millionare. The seamed stockings I had to wear every day weren't fun, but interacting with visitors, working on my public speaking and writing skills, and exploring the beauties of the desert certainly were. One of my favorite memories was taking a moon hike at Ubehebe Crater.
