Shenandoah North District Backcountry

During the summer of 2001 I served on the North District Trail crew in Shenandoah National Park. Every day we hiked for miles cleaning and clearing trails, building new campsites, putting up bear poles, etc. I had many opportunites to work with different departments throughout the park. One of my favorite experiences was when I was able to assist in a bear relocation. I will always remember the beauty of the park, and all of the experiences I was able to have during my three months of service.
