Marin Stewardship Coordinator, Park Stewardship Program
Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy
Interested in Community Engagement and Stewardship?
The Park Stewardship Program works to restore critical natural and cultural resource sites throughout the Golden Gate National Recreation Area through community engagement and educational partnerships. Our goal is to connect people to the land by developing a sense of place, an understanding of interconnection, and opportunities for service and learning.
The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy is a nonprofit organization that has worked for 25 years to help preserve the Golden Gate National Parks and enhance the public’s awareness and enjoyment of these areas. The Parks Conservancy works hand-in-hand with the National Park Service to revitalize park sites, enlist volunteers, support educational programs, develop community programs and offer services to park visitors. The Park’s volunteer program is the largest in the nation, with more than 400,000 hours contributed last year alone.
Marin Stewardship Coordinator, Park Stewardship Program
As the Stewardship Coordinator, you will work to develop and expand volunteer and educational partnerships in connection with several active restoration projects in Marin County. You will become a member of a thriving park-wide stewardship program working to restore the park’s natural areas while providing a variety of volunteer and educational opportunities to local community members. Given that management of these programs is a team effort involving both internal and external partners, we seek an individual who possesses strong interpersonal skills, is able to work in a team environment, and is self motivated, creative and goal oriented.
Are you the right person for this valuable position?
Working as part of the Stewardship team, the Marin Stewardship Coordinator will support existing volunteer programs, build and lead new volunteer efforts related to specific restoration projects in the Marin Area, develop new educational partnerships, run service-learning programs, train and supervise interns, provide marketing and outreach support for the program and work with other team members to meet the goals of each of the restoration projects.
