Each Wednesday between now and January 1, 2011, SCA will post a new photo in its Nature Photo Caption Contest.
Deadline for caption submissions for that photo is 11:59 P.M. Eastern Standard Time on the following Tuesday. Winners will be announced on the following Wednesday. SCA’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Contest.
To enter, register your email address and first and last name. Only one entrant is allowed per email address. Any legal resident of the United States, age eighteen or over, can enter, except employees, agents, or representatives of the Student Conservation Association [SCA], or any member of their immediate family.
SCA is not responsible for Submissions that are lost, late, misdirected, garbled, or incompletely received, for any reason.
Entrants represent and warrant that their Submission is their original work, it has not been copied from others, and it does not violate the rights of any other person or entry. By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the Contest and states that he or she is 18 year old or older at the time of submission. The Student Conservation Association will determine eligibility.
The copyright in any Submission shall remain the property of the entrant, but entry in this Contest constitutes the entrant's irrevocable, perpetual permission and consent, without further compensation or attribution, for use of the Submission and the entrant's name for editorial, advertising, commercial and publicity purposes by the Student Conservation Association in any and all media now in existence or hereinafter created.
A panel of internal judges at SCA will determine the winner and two runners-up each week and winners and runners-up will be published and promoted on SCA’s website and social networks. There are no prizes, only public recognition.
SCA retains the right to disqualify submissions that are, in its opinion, inappropriate or appear to infringe on others’ copyrights.
