Jasmine Lakey

Environmental Educator and Conservation Field Crew Member

Gather my children and you shall hear the story of Jazmine Lakey and she came to be here, in Bear Brook State Park New Hampshire Corps. Born in Arizona 20 years ago in the middle of August, shortly moved to the green state of Oregon and lived early childhood years, moved back to the sunny state of AZ approximately 6 years ago where I graduated high school at 16 and just completed my Associates degree in Applied Science at Phoenix College. My first job was with ACE (American Conservation Experience) which got me interested in working in conservation. I was lucky to land a 6-month internship with the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) as the Environmental Education Youth Program Coordinator. That is where I learned I want to work in SCA. The BLM and SCA have a partnership for an amazing high school graduate Conservation and Resource Management Field Certification Program.  Nearing the end of her internship with the BLM she created an account on the SCA site and stumbled upon the NH Corps and decided to apply. I am excited and so grateful to be here; I love everyone and am looking forward to the lasting friendships that will surely blossom in my 10 months here. I feel our work in the schools has a lasting and rewarding impact on the kids and hope to continue building the next generation of conservation leaders in the SCA.
