Vegetation Hitch We launched the first vegetation hitch to some confusion and many hills. We received the survey points and a few functioning GPSs from our friendly forest service contacts, and with help from Kyle the Biology Major we learned how to properly do burn effects monitoring and seedling regeneration surveys with only a few mishaps. The plots were up by the Blackbird mine, many of which were on treacherous slopes and on rainy days it made for a wonderful slip and slide. Trees were counted, dead trees knocked down for the sheer pleasure of the crash, and everyone made it out alive. What I would consider a successful hitch.
