Elizabeth (Liz) Cushman Titus Putnam

Liz Putnam’s simple idea for conserving our national parks was not only right for the times in 1957 – it is right for today as well. What’s truly remarkable is that her vision was conceived while still a student herself, and was presented in her senior thesis at Vassar College in 1955. It’s no surprise then that Liz’s pioneering work and enduring story has continued to inspire and engage conservationists for the past five decades.
