Health Insurance – Offered to all regular, full-time (30+ hours per week) staff and effective on the first day of employment. Our current carrier is Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield. We offer a PPO to all non-New England staff, an HMO to New England staff, and HSA to all. Currently, premium costs are shared between staff members and SCA.
Vision Insurance – Our current carrier is Anthem Vision. Plan provides generous coverage for exams, contacts, lenses, and frames.
Dental Insurance – Voluntary coverage through Standard Dental.
Flex Spending Account Plan – Includes Health Spending Account, Dependent Care Account, and Premium pre-tax options.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – Provides services for employees and family members including free short-term counseling, legal consultations, financial counseling, etc.
Life and AD&D Insurance – Company paid life insurance up to $20,000.
Voluntary Life Insurance – Option to purchase additional life insurance.
Short Term and Long Term Disability – Option to purchase coverage.
Short Term Disability Pool (STDP) – Unique to SCA. All unused PTO and Holiday time rolls into your own STDP. This collected time may be used for extended personal or immediate family member illness or birth/adoption of a child. No limit on the amount of time that may accumulate and paid out at time of use at 100% of current salary. For staff members located in CA please ask for further details.
403(b) Thrift Savings Plan – This is a defined contribution retirement plan. After one year of service, SCA will match up to 3% of your own contribution to the plan. We offer a variety of investment options to choose from including a Roth IRA, through Mass Mutual.
Paid Time Off (PTO) – PTO may be used for whatever reason needed and does not need to be identified as sick, personal, or vacation. Amounts are prorated for any regular staff hired to work fewer than 40 hours per week.

- 2 – 6 years: 27 days
- 7+ years: 32 days
- Holidays: 11 paid holidays
Benefits and Beyond
Educational Leave – Staff are eligible for 40 hours of educational leave per year to be used for professional growth opportunities.
Staff Referral Program – Good people know other good people. SCA encourages you to recommend candidates for open positions. If your referred candidate is hired, you will receive $250 upon their completion of 3 months of employment and another $250 after their completion of 6 months of employment.
Community Service Time – Staff members are eligible for 32 hours of community service time to give back to their community in a way that is meaningful to them. It could be coaching a little league team, participating in local politics, or volunteering at the local food bank.
Alternative Transportation Program – We encourage staff to reduce their carbon footprint by using alternative modes of transportation, whether carpooling, biking, walking, or other means. When you participate on a regular basis you receive your choice of a day off or a cash reward.
Telecommuting – Staff may establish a telecommuting arrangement that fits both their needs and their department’s needs. Working from home gives people both ﬂexibility and in many cases increased availability.
